What couples ask us most before they commit to a number.
How much does a wedding in India cost?
Four things decide it: how many guests you host, how many days of functions you run, the city you marry in, and which services you need. A 200-guest two-day wedding and a 600-guest three-day one are different weddings, not the same wedding scaled up. Set those four inputs above and this wedding budget calculator prices your brief against the rates we actually pay vendors.
How does this wedding budget calculator work?
It starts from a per-guest rate for your city, scales it for the number of days, then splits the total across venue and food, decor, photography, hair and makeup, mehendi and entertainment. A 10% buffer sits on top. Opt out of a service and its share leaves the total entirely.
What is the average cost per guest at an Indian wedding?
Your per-guest figure sits right under the estimated total. It is everything in the estimate divided by headcount, so it climbs with each extra day of functions and with the standard of the venue, and drops when you opt out of services you have already arranged.
How much of a wedding budget goes to the venue?
Venue, food and stay is almost always the largest line — close to two-thirds of the total on most briefs. Decor is usually the next biggest. That is why guest count moves the number more than any other single decision: it multiplies the biggest line.
What does a destination wedding cost compared to a hometown wedding?
Destination cities like Udaipur, Jaipur, Goa and Keralam carry higher per-guest rates, mostly because rooms and meals for the whole stay land on the venue bill rather than being absorbed by families at home. Switch the city above to see the same brief repriced.
Does the estimate include outfits, jewellery and invitations?
No. Bridal and groom outfits, jewellery, invitations, gifting and your family’s travel sit outside this estimate. Budget for them separately — they are personal, and they vary far more than vendor costs do.
Why is there a 10% buffer in the breakdown?
Guest lists grow, functions run long, and last-minute asks turn up at every wedding we plan. The buffer is what keeps those from becoming an overrun on the day.
How do I reduce my wedding budget?
Three levers, in order of impact: trim the guest list, drop a day of functions, and move to an off-peak date. Opting out of services you have already arranged yourself is the fourth. Change any of them above and recalculate to see the difference.
